Gary brings 35 years of executive, marketing, and sales experience in the medical device arena with a focus on innovation, market-making, and building shareholder value. Most recently, he was the CEO of Medafor, Inc., where he lead the company to a successful $200 million acquisition by C.R. Bard.

Dr. Regina Lamendella, PHD

Dr. Regina “Gina” Lamendella is responsible for developing and leading the next-generation sequencing diagnostics for infectious diseases. As an established, award-winning leader in microbial genomics and computational biology, her nationally and internationally recognized work has been cited nearly 5,000 times in peer-reviewed literature. Gina has more than 60 publications on the application of high-throughput sequencing in investigating the role of microbial communities in human and environmental health. Furthermore, Gina is an endowed professor in Biological Sciences at Juniata College, with more than one million dollars in funding from the NIH, NSF, and NOAA.

EVP of Bioinformatics & Co Founder

Justin Wright

Justin Wright is a bioinformatician who has led the development of the CSI CLIA-Compliant LIMS. He is the co-inventor on the CSI’s patent pending RAPID-Dx bioinformatics analysis pipeline. Justin has developed techniques targeting and sequencing the 16S rRNA gene to unearth the total bacterial community that resides within any sample, and established Wright Labs, LLC. in 2015 to provide bacterial community metagenomic, metatranscriptomic, and genomic analyses of any sample type with rapid turnaround times. Justin has more than 40 peer-reviewed publications since 2014.  

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Alexander Shope, M.D.

Alex participated in Penn State’s Surgical Innovations Group and helped promote a then, newly founded Penn State dual M.D./M.B.A. program. After completing his medical degree. Alex worked at Rothman Orthopedics (Philadelphia, PA) as a research fellow before taking his position at CSI. Alex enjoys combining his scientific and medical knowledge with his innovative and entrepreneurial passions to help drive technologies to market.
