Dr. Regina Lamendella

Dr. Regina “Gina” Lamenella is responsible for developing and leading the next-generation sequencing diagnostics for infectious diseases. As an established, award-winning leader in microbial genomics and computational biology, her nationally and internationally recognized work has been cited nearly 5,000 times in peer-reviewed literature. Gina has more than 60 publications on the application of high-throughput sequencing in investigating the role of microbial communities in human and environmental health. Furthermore, Gina is an endowed professor of Biological Sciences at Juniata College, with more than one million dollars in funding from the NIH, NSF, and NOAA.
